The New York Times published a sobering article on former players dealing with opioid addiction after careers marked by the excessive use of painkillers to deal with pain. Given the extreme physical toll football takes on their bodies, it’s heartbreaking to read stories of how easily athletes are discarded and forgotten by the NFL once their playing days are over.
Finding natural pain relief alternatives to opioids would be a two-fold blessing for these former players: Feeling Their Best and Not Getting Addicted to Opioids.

Let’s hope one day we spend less time talking about what NFL players are doing with their knee in the minutes before kick-off, and more time talking about how to responsibly treat those same knees once the game is over.
